Client Assessment, Referral, and Evaluation (CARES)

CARES is an assessment program started by the 1994 Kansas Legislature. Everyone seeking admittance to a Medicaid certified nursing home care must be assessed by the CARE Program before they can enter a nursing home. It is a program to encourage a wide array of quality cost-effective and affordable long-term care choices
