Biographical Information
 

Elected in 1996 to a four-year term, the Sumner County Treasurer was able to complete all four areas of certification before the 2000 election. Certification consisted of Certified Kansas County Treasurer, Certified Finance Officer, Certified Finance Manager, and Certified Finance Executive through the Kansas County Treasurer’s Association in conjunction with Ft Hays State University’s Docking Institute. This represents 96 classroom hours over the past three years in Finance, Budgeting, Audit Analysis, Cash Management, Human Resources, Legal, Computer, Investments, and Thinking Beyond the Norms

I have served as South Central District Representative to the Kansas County Treasurer's Association at a member of the Executive Committee and Legislative Committee. I have also served as Certification Committee Chairperson working with Docking Institute at For Hays State University to develop and schedule classes for certification. I have served as Secretary-Treasurer of the South Central District Treasurers Association in 2002, Vice President in 2003 and President in 2004. In 2005 I served as Secretary of the Kansas County Treasurer's Association. In 2006 and 2007 I am again serving as Chairman of the Certification Committee and am also a memeber of the KCTA Legislative Committee.

NEW LAW CHANGES IN 2004. - MARK YOUR CALENDAR

Effective August 21, 2003 the date for second half payment of taxes has been changed to MAY 10, 2004 instead of June 20. This is a permanent change. The first half payment date will stay the same at December 20.
